After years of studying Japanese and enjoying video games and anime in Japanese, I have decided to serve the community of Japanese nerds like me with a website that will cater to our shared interests. My biggest areas of interest are learning Japanese and playing video games, particularly Japanese imports, but the store will also offer products for origami enthusiasts, music fans, anime and manga lovers, and other otaku. 

A bit about me: I have a degree in East Asian Studies from college and I've been looking for an opportunity to put this study area to good use. I am a Florida native but love to travel. I'm looking forward to my next opportunity to travel to Japan after many years away and I would love for that to be an opportunity to share new experiences and products with you!

Pera Pera (ペラペラ) is a word that means "fluent". It's an onomatopoeic word, which means that it mimics sound - in this case, the sound of someone speaking rapidly because they are fluent. It also means speaking quickly or loudly or enthusiastically. Think of it as "chatty". And that's what I'm going for with this website, and with this business. It is my hope not just to make money off of products (but don't let that discourage you from shopping!); I want to create a community here of people that love Japan and the Japanese language as much as I do.
